Billboard Women In Music ‘Chart Topper’ Meghan Trainor: ‘I Knew This Would Be My Year’

As per Billboard.com,

“I’m having a good time,” says Trainor, photographed on June 22 at 632 on Hudson in New York. “All my dreams are real right now.”

Asked to rank her year on a scale of one to 10, Meghan Trainor doesn’t hesitate: “This is the year I won a Grammy, right?” says the 2016 best new artist with a laugh. “Ten!” Since the smash success of her “All About That Bass” (a Billboard Hot 100 No. 1 for eight weeks), Trainor has duetted with Harry Styles and John Legend, co-written charting hits for Jennifer Lopez (“Ain’t Your Mama”) and Fifth Harmony (“Sledgehammer”), and, most recently, released her second album, Thank You, which peaked at No. 3 on the Billboard 200 on the strength of brassy lead single “No,” Trainor’s fourth Hot 100 top 10 hit. “Growing up, I remember I always wanted to be 22,” says Trainor. “Now I am. I’ve finished a tour and sold out every show; got a Grammy; I have an amazing new boyfriend [actor Daryl Sabara]. For some reason, I knew this would be my year.”

Writing How-Tos:
“When I walk into the studio, the first thing I think is, ‘I’m dealing with this right now, but can I make a male relate to this too? Or a mother?’ When I write about universal concepts, other artists are like fans: ‘Oh, my God, I feel the same way!’ ”

Horror Habit:
“I’ve been on that American Horror Story grind. But I’m afraid of the dark! I have so many night lights in my room.”

Kindred Spirit:
“My boyfriend knows what it’s like to be on a red carpet, to be super hot for a second with everyone talking about you. It’s nice to have someone who actually understands.”

Barca V/S Real Madrid

Here we Go….The biggest clash in Club Football is expected to capture an audience of 650 million people worldwide, According to figures released by La liga. Messi Messi, Ronaldo, Ronaldo, the whole arena will convert into a Colosseum. Barcelona are the more desperate side as Real Madrid visit Catalonia on Saturday for the first El Clasico of the season boasting a six-point leat at the top of La Liga. Madrid have won 15 more points in all in La Liga under the guidance of Zinedine Zidane since the sides last met in April and are riding a 31-game unbeaten run in all competitions. “On Saturday, 03-12-2016 we have more to play for than Madrid, they can lose, we can’t.” says Barcelona defender Gerard Pique. Barca are off to their worst league start in nine seasons. However, coach Luis Enrique believes much of the media criticism of his side has been over-blown, citing the institutional crisis that Barca overcame in the January his debut season in 2015 to win the treble. “We remain favorites for all the titles, but it is evident we have to improve ” said Enrique. Actually, both sides are blighted by injury concerns. Madrid will be without Gareth Bale with the Welshman now set to miss up to four months after an ankle operation, whilst Toni Kroos is also sidelined by a broken foot. Tough tackling mid-fielder Casemiro made his first appearance in two months in midweek and could come into contention to partner the Croatian duo of Luka Modric and Mateo Kovacic. So get ready guys for an epic game. ENJOY..

Aussies Look to douse Maxwell ire, Darren Lehmann has said that he would try to defuse tension between out of form all-rounder Glenn Maxwell and Matt Wade ahead of ODI Series against the Kiwis. He said “I think the wicket-keeper should be batting at seven unless you’re trying to squeeze an extra bowler into your line-up “. Now Lehmann said “Maxwell hasn’t made a hundred for two years. Are you going to pick a bloke who hasn’t made a hundred in two years?” How many of you agree with Lehmann as my personal opinion is in the last series against Sri Lanka Maxwell opened the innings and thrashed them in a T20 match. As per the Billboard.com

When the 11th annual Billboard Women In Music event hits New York City this winter, royalty will be present.

Following a year where she extended her record as the highest-grossing female touring artist of all time, Madonna will receive Billboard’s 2016 Woman of the Year award.

“Madonna is one of a minuscule number of super-artists whose influence and career transcend music,” said Janice Min, president and chief creative officer of The Hollywood Reporter-Billboard Media Group. “With her creative vision, relentless innovation, and dedication to philanthropic causes, she is an inspiration to hundreds of millions of people around the world, all while shattering every career record out there. She is an important feminist on top of that, a one-of-a-kind artist who’s used her influence to change the conversation around women, sexuality and equal rights.”

The Mercy James Institute of Pediatric Surgery and Intensive Care facility will open in 2017.

Both Trainor and Morris will also perform live at the gala, which will honor Madonna as 2016’s Woman of the Year.

The Grammy-winning pop star Trainor will be recognized with the 2016 Women in Music ‘Chart Topper’ award, recognizing an artist who notched notable achievements on Billboard‘s music charts this year.

“Meghan Trainor’s one-of-a-kind voice and bold personal style have propelled her to the top of the Billboard charts,” said Janice Min, president and chief creative officer of The Hollywood Reporter-Billboard Media Group. “From ‘All About that Bass’ to ‘No,’ Trainor’s songs have helped make her the consummate ‘Chart Topper.’”

Country sensation Morris will be the recipient of this year’s Women in Music ‘Breakthrough Artist’ award, given to an artist who’s emerged as a leading voice in the past year, and released career-defining work.

“Maren Morris has dominated this year, easily becoming one of the most talked-about women in country music today,” Min added. “With a breakthrough nothing short of incredible, Maren has a stellar career ahead of her that will be marked by enormous commercial and critical success.”

Trainor first emerged on the national scene with the irresistible throwback pop of her debut single “All About That Bass” in 2014. The song went on to top the Billboard Hot 100 for eight weeks, and won two trophies at the Billboard Music Awards, for top Hot 100 song and top digital song. “Bass” also helped spur blockbuster sales of her first full-length LP, Title, which debuted on top of the Billboard 200 albums chart in 2015, and spawned two more Hot 100 top 10 hits: “Lips Are Movin” and the John Legend-featuring “Like I’m Gonna Lose You.”

In the past year, Trainor released her sophomore album, Thank You, which reached No. 3 on the Billboard 200, and scored another smash with the LP’s lead single “No,” which peaked at No. 3, making for the artist’s fourth top 10 hit on the Hot 100. She also won her first Grammy, for best new artist, and covered BillboardMagazine in July. To date, Trainor’s songs have received more than 2 billion on-demand streams in the U.S., according to Nielsen Music.

Morris experienced major success this year with her major-label, full-length debut Hero, which became the first debut by a new female artist to top the Country Albums chart in nearly two years when it debuted at No. 1 earlier this year. The singer-songwriter gave a stunning performance at the CMA Awards this November, backed by a full band and choir, and picked up the CMA award for best new artist.

Morris has also earned three top 40 hits on the Hot Country Songs chart, including the Country Digital Song Sales-topper “My Church,” and her songs have racked up more than 1 million digital downloads to date, as well as over 116 million on-demand streams, according to Nielsen Music. She also appeared on the cover of Billboard’s Grammy Preview Issue, along with Chance the Rapper and Alessia Cara.

The 11th annual Women in Music event is held Dec. 9 in New York City and airs nationally on Lifetime on Dec. 12. The star-studded event is held in tandem with the publication of Billboard’s Women in Music list, which names the 50 most powerful female executives in the industry each year.
